Sound

• Sounds bridge at the start with the credits and the talking amongst themselves, linking both the credits and the film it’s self.
• Rustling of the coats and bodies together showing how small there area is and how close they are together.
• When shots being fired, volume had raised on the guns almost like every shot screamed, also the over digetic sounds like the motor bike, people, ambient sound had all been quieted.

Camera

• Starting scene was a OTS as well as a P.O.V shot it was done in steady cam to make the audience feel a bit more personal to the shot, it was to show one of the characters filming the incident on his phone. The whole opening scene consists of this steady P.O.V shot off the mobile phone, once again this is so the audience are on edge due to big constant movement of the camera whilst they are on the motorbike, this also gives you an element of suspense because you can not establish the location or what is actually going on in the shot.
• The first section of the shots range only from MCU to BCU, this is to give a sense of claustrophobia in the location given, and this also consists of math on action shots.

Editing

• There isn’t a lot of complicated cuts, just straight cuts, it starts of with very little but as soon as the location changes to when there are on the motorbike the cuts are very often and quick to create pace to build suspense and anxiety. And it kills the pace completely after the boys get run over by the van, where it completely changes time, pace, location.

Mise en Scene

• The biggest mise en scene I think was the graffiti filled ally.. with every character wearing big dark hoodies, which already shows a stereotype of characters and this gives you ideas of what will happen, which gets reinforced by the guns and drugs.

Sound

• It starts of sound bridge from the black out screen using the foley sound of a door opening to open the scene.
• The language from the characters is different to one and another which causes conflict keeping the audience on edge as they do not understand what the characters are saying for the majority of the shot.

Camera

• There is a big use of LA and HA shot reverse shots to convey the metaphorical as well as physical levels between the two characters, one being less powerful and beneath the other, which also comes into a feminist argument that it is the female character that is valued as less powerful.
• The camera slightly shakes as well to give the audience a sense of discomfort.
• There is a LS at the end to establish the location it is meant to convey.

Editing

•  The first was the use of the door opening, they had used this as a wipe across the screen.
• There were straight cuts from the person getting tortured and the person torturing.

Mise en Scene

• There is a distinct military uniform that the men wear which immediately tells you that it is a corrupt government.

Sound

• few sound bridges used to link the locations and characters
• mainly digetic sounds being emphasised louder
• not dialect between characters.

Camera

• starts of with the establishing shot which was a small car park
• LA on the shopping troll that then pnas up, making it look like a normal day out shopping until it shows the two men which isn’t the norm.
• There is a BCU on every item to get the audience questions the reason for buying all these items and to shot the importance of them
• Later there is a slow long pan of the room, which establishes that as the main area where this film will take place.
• There is an ECU on the screws giving a sense of suspence to the audience about what is he screwing in?
• There is a shallow D.O.F when they are in the woods to show the importance of a certain tree they start digging in front of. This is also done as an OTS to show that it is important to the characters for an unknown reason.

Mise en Scene

• The items and props are very important shown by the camera framing.
• The body language shows how they are relaxed yet military in the movement they do for example they synchronise their decorating.
• Their facial expressions are very tense.

• The sound track rises volume and pace as bad guy gets closer.
• The sounds of the Sounds water are emphasised so as an audience you can here which means that the stalker has also heard it, so the character knows what we know.
• There is a very tense sound track

Camera

• Shot of legs panning fallowed by the body running through the trees Shallow DOF focus on her. Then bcu on her head showing facial expressions of her being distort
• LS of her running and tripping over tripping over showing where she has fallen over, which is the dark scary woods.
• BCU on the light of the stalker showing that is the only use of light they have.
• Cu on her panicking and scared hiding from the stalker
• Light use of aeroplane lighting her up for us to see establish area and also for bad guy to spot her

Mise en Scene

• Costume – nightwear or dress? Small skimpy so possibly being chased due to her being vulnerable and female,
• Blood everywhere so fight has happened or she has been already raped but got away in time?

My last thriller was Silent witness which had then been removed off BBC iplayer which meant I could use it to refer to.
